Ready to get started?
The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is a government benefit program operated by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) that provides discounts on monthly broadband Internet access service and certain connected devices. Eligibility for the ACP will be determined by the National Verifier, administered by the Universal Service Administrative Company. ACP discounted device offer is subject to product availability. Click here for ACP Terms and Conditions.
Program Rules
Prove your eligibility
When you apply for the ACP, you may need to show proof of participation in a qualifying program or proof of income.
Recertify every year
Every year, USAC will check to confirm you still qualify. If they cannot automatically confirm that you qualify, you will receive a letter in the mail to recertify within 60 days, or lose your benefit.
Keep your company up-to-date
If you change your address, no longer qualify for the ACP, or more than one person in your household receives the ACP benefit, notify your company within 30 days.
One discount per household
Only one monthly service discount and one device discount is allowed per household. A “household” is a group of people who live together and share income and expenses.
Use it or lose it
Every 30 days you must use your service at least once. If you don’t, you will get a 15-day notice to use it or it will get turned off and you will need to reapply for the ACP.
Be honest on your application and forms
It is against the law to lie on any ACP-related forms or questionnaires.
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about the Affordable Connectivity Program.
How does the $100 discount toward a tablet work?
When your ACP application is approved, you will have the option of selecting between our data-only “Tablet” plan and our voice+data “Smartphone” plan. The ACP device discount applies towards an iPad on our Tablet plan. After the $100 discount is applied, there will be a $12 copay. The discount is limited to one device per household. If you have previously received the discount, you will be ineligible for a second device discount.
Will I have a monthly charge?
Never! We designed our ACP plans to be fully subsidized by the monthly discount. This means your wireless plan is paid for by Uncle Sam. Your wireless plan is an all-in free service with no contract, no monthly bill, no hidden fees, with all taxes included. We bill the federal program while you never pay another phone bill again!
Is there a limit on Data Usage?
We provide unlimited data usage for all ACP plans in two tiers of speed. Tier one is a monthly allotment of “high-speed” data between 6 GB (Standard Plan) or 12 GB (Tribal Plan). If you use all your monthly high-speed data, your data speed will reduce to 3G speeds for the duration of the service month. To prevent this slowdown, you can purchase a Top-Up, which will kick in the moment you need it, extending your high-speed data speed!
What happens when ACP ends?
With the program expected to end in June 2024, only 13 of the 85 participating providers are authorized to offer a replacement plan as part of the California LifeLine Program. We have submitted to the California Public Utilities Commission our 198-page filing to seek approval as the fourteenth California Sequoia Wireless Service Provider. In our filing, we outlined a seamless transition from ACP to California LifeLine while committing to offer the same data limits for California LifeLine plans. Our commitment to offering uninterrupted wireless service once ACP ends is predicated on the determination of our filling.
What if I already have ACP with another provider?
If you already have ACP through another wireless or internet provider and are interested in one of our ACP plans, you are free to transfer to Sequoia Wireless after 30 days with your current provider.
Can I cancel or transfer providers?
Your ACP benefit can only be transferred to a new service provider once every 30 days. While you may cancel at any time with no penalty, we sincerely hope you stay with us. We are committed to delivering an exceptional customer experience and furthering a healthy long-term relationship. If you are thinking of switching service providers, consider contacting us first so we can see what we can do to solve any pain points.
What documents are needed to apply?
When you apply for ACP, you will need to provide additional documentation in the event we cannot confirm a match during the instant approval process or if qualifying through an additional program or household income. You can take pictures of your documents using a scanner, camera, or smartphone but make sure to avoid sending any dark or blurry copies or pictures. Learn more about what documents to submit.
What is manual eligibility verification?
When information is not found during the instant approval process, the consumer will need to provide documentation for ACP eligibility verification. The information can be submitted online through the consumer or our service provider portal. Submitting supporting documentation to the National Verifier initiates a manual review process by agents at the ACP Support Center during business hours (6 a.m. – 6 p.m.) and are reviewed within minutes. Users are notified through the online portal when the information is reviewed.
How long do ACP benefits last?
Your ACP benefits last for one year from the approval date. Subscribers must recertify annually to prove they are still eligible. Each year, USAC will check to confirm you still qualify. If they cannot automatically confirm that you qualify, you will receive a letter in the mail to recertify within 60 days, or lose your benefit.
What if I become ineligible for ACP benefits?
If you are enrolled in ACP and become ineligible mid-year, you will not be disconnected or lose your benefits. You will continue to receive your benefits until your next recertification date. If you are unable to recertify, your service will be discontinued on your one-year anniversary. Once you become eligible again, you are able to submit a new application to re-enroll into the program.
